With the new IP systems, how is everyone handling the Ray Baum Act.
How about a school enviroment?
I haven't heard how vendors are dealing with it.

We don't have the same rule up here in Canada, but in a case where a nursing home wanted 911 location for each room we simply assigned a unique 911 DID for every extension and then registered the addresses including unit numbers.

We just recently setup nurse care facility with patient room numbers for every phone on a hosted IP platform. I don't think that would be a requirement as long the staff is aware about who dialed 911, but since we were able to add this information to the e911 location we did it. This would of course require a phone number for any location that needs a different e911 location. We bundle the phone numbers for the rooms in with the service.

The Ray Baum Act requires "dispatchable location". In the case of a classroom, does that mean sending the classroom number to the dispatch? In most schools I think you would typically have one main entrance at the office. As long as the PBX notifies the main office so that the staff can direct the responders as needed, I think that would be good enough in most cases. You may have to consider some locations that may be open after hours, like a gym or pool.

But then again I am not a lawyer.
