Hi all,

cs-5200 v3.2.4.59

How do you configure an incoming CO trunk call to be forwarded to a group mailbox on no answer?

I have successfuly configured the forward paths to VM and tested working via IC calls.

Am i missing something?

Thanks
Pops

Create a new forwarding path with a Call Routing Application as the destination. Program the CRA to timeout to the mailbox.

Routing calls to voice mail is dependent on how they ring in. Does your trunk group point to an individual station, a hunt group or perhaps a call routing announcement?

Would this be configured on each endpoint or a global setting somewhere?

At the moment, there is a forwarding path already set to VM with the usual FWD Call Types set.

Could you expand on how to get it to time out to the mailbox?
Edit: are you referring to system forward advance/initiate? If so, yes this is configured.

Yes, all incoming calls are routed via Trunk Groups to Multiple Ring-in's, itself pointed to seperate extensions lists. These estension lists contain the endpoints we've selected as externally facing.

System\Endpoint-Related Information\System Forwarding Paths

You can create a variety of forwarding paths. Endpoints can have up multiple FPs. Which FP used by the endpoint depends upon the programming of the FP. You may have one that is only used for external calls. Another for internal calls. One used when the endpoint is in DND. Etc. The programming of the FP and the Timer settings of the endpoint determine when, and under what condition, the FP is used.

Forwarding Paths are only used on Endpoints. If this is a Hunt Group or other device, use a CRA with the timeout.

You can’t recall to voice mail from a Multiple Ring In destination.

Create a new hunt group – System / Devices and Feature Codes / Hunt Groups – and use your existing extension list as the hunt group member.

Create a new Call Routing Announcement – Voice Processor / Devices / Applications – and use Digit Translations to Timeout to the desired mailbox. Remove the default greetings from the application.

Make the Call Routing Announcement the Recall destination for the hunt group. Adjust the hunt group recall timer as desired.

Point your trunk group to the hunt group - change the CO Ring-In Type from Multiple to Single, and insert the hunt group number.

Your call routing will be as follows: calls ring into the CO trunk group, route to the hunt group and ring the stations, recall to the Call Routing Announcement, times out to the mailbox.

Works a charm, many thanks to you both.

On a seperate note, is there a way of removing (suppressing?) the first digit on the CLI for all incoming CO calls? Redials are a pain because of the extra digit.
