I think that I am going to "bite the bullet" and replace the Merlin Legend system in my house with the X16 system.
Can anybody recommend a good quality cordless phone that I can use with this system? I'm not a fan of cordless phones, but the wife has been bugging me. The Avaya wireless phone that we have is clunky and not drop proof (as she found out.)
Thanks.

Several good cordless phones out there just make sure you get one that has repeater remote stations. I have had good luck with both the Uniden and Panasonic systems.

Thanks. I know this thread is 12 years old but I finally found a cordless phone that works well with the CTM. I've had a CTM for the last 10 years but every cordless I've tried (Panasonic, Vtech & Uniden) have had an annoying background noise that sounds like a long distance call in 1978. I just tried a Clarity cordless phone and finally I have something useful! No background noise at all.
Why do I have to press one for English when they're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?

Unless the X-Blue is falling into your lap, I'd probably not consider it. New, 3 phones and the control unit is pricey and you won't have much company. By CTM are you talking V-Tech hospitality cordless phones? https://www.vtechhotelphones.com/products/search/category/hospitality-analogIn my favorite alternative to real phones, you might try Facebook marketplace for phone systems. Someone has an NEC system with 15 phones for $100 :-) That and an analog cordless phone could set you up for life. The other thing I oddly remember, wasn't the X-16 a funky 1-pair system that allowed 4 digital phones on a single pair? Carl

There used to be a cordless phone adaptor that would allow you to use the features in the X16, looks like it's been discontinued, might find one on ebay or elsewhere. You can put a straight line set ahead of the system your get the line busy indicator but that's it. As stated, they are pricey. Yes, Carl each digital port would handle 4 phones. Since this is a very old topic and you've received some good information, I'm locking this. Any further questions please start a new topic. As far as which cordless phone, you'll probably find as many opinions as there are cordless systems.
