Thanks in advances for all the replies.
We are installing a 5000 with sip trunks for the first time.
Can anyone point me to information on how sip trunks need to be programmed in the 5000. And where is a good place to learn about sip trunks, operation and troubleshooting.
Shop have been farting around on this, to learn how it goes together. I heard about it today. Need to learn about it.
Any suggestion will be helpful.
Thanks,
Mike

Go into the Trunks and create a SIP trunk. When in there hit F1 and it should help you with the setup.
Depending on the version you may also want to go into SIP Peers and do the same thing.
Hope this leads you in the right direction.

The provider is a local cable company that has been into providing dt for a few years. They were pretty good until the sip trunks started giving everyone headaches. They have dropped off pri through an ip drop. Then when the circuit acted up, it had to be our equipment.
Sip in the new thing and not much out there on how to set it up.
Any one has any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

Well, if you can post or PM the name of the provider I may be able to provide specifics for that provider.

If you log in to mitel.com, under technical documents, search for SIP COE, Mitel has pre-certified about 8-9 carriers and gives instructions on how to configure the 5000 to interface with each of them.
We used this with Broadvox recently and it worked like a charm.
Mitel, Samsung, CTP+ and A+ Certified.

Go with AccessLine. Their SIP service works well on the 5000 and is easy to setup. Send me a PM if you might be interested in a TeamViewer session. I can walk you thru setup.
