Inter-Tel Axxess, v10.003

We are considering using an external 'Professional' talker to redo some of our greetings/prompts. (Most of our voices less-than-optimal, no one likes their voice). The service, which does our MoH Bogen Tapes, has provided some MP3's.

Any practical way to 'pump' those in?

TIA

I can get you a converter to change them into the proper format, but I've yet to see anyone show how to import them.

One person once said you could copy it into a database backup, and then upload the database. But I don't know if it was successful.

Worked around it. Taped PC's headset to handset mouthpiece. The geography a bit tricky, but it worked. Got to the 'record' point, fired off the PC's media player. Helps to have three hands, but I made it (one hand for receiver to ear, one hand to push station buttons, one hand to click mouse).

To answer dfleschute, to import an audio recording into at least a VPU is fairly straight forward, but takes some steps.

First get your file ready. Best to have it in WAV originally.

CONVERT.EXE /IT:WAV8 /OT:RHET24 sit.wav sit.r24

Then you need to runup avdapmon while logged into the voice-mail box itself on console
(ie. D:\avdap> avdapmon localhost . )

Then dialin on a phone to the admin mailbox to make a new custom recording. Here I'm going to do custom recording 332. Watch the debug screen as you do things.. Just record a few seconds of silence or whatever..

Now your avdapmon debug session shows..

[23580 12-29-2010 12:55:48 VMAIL1]MNU_sysadmin_custom_recording
[23581 12-29-2010 12:55:51 VMAIL1] Enqueuing (PHYINPUT_menukey_1)
[23582 12-29-2010 12:55:56 VMAIL1] Enqueuing (3)
[23583 12-29-2010 12:55:56 VMAIL1] Enqueuing (3)
[23584 12-29-2010 12:55:56 VMAIL1] Enqueuing (2)
[23585 12-29-2010 12:56:00 RHET1]Recording (db\rcrdings\91.r24)

Now copy sit.r24 ontop of the recording file you just made on your admin station. (assuming you are still in your D:\AVDAP dir)..

copy sit.r24 db\rcrdings\91.r24

Verify your recording is there while within the admin mailbox custom recordings area. (ie. I go to record over custom recording 332 again, and I hear my SIT tone and cancel out before the recording can start).

Now you can use this custom recording in any application.
