If this is possible, I would appreciate any advice on where to look.

I had a carrier, lost a piece of equipment, that took down the dsl for a customer that had two sites. They had ip phones that used the dsl to talk to the phone system. As well as internet activities.

When the circuits were back up, the internet part worked ok, but the ip phones didn't. It is assumed that there was blockage of the ports needed to talk to the phone system by the ip phones. Naturely the carrier said it wasn't there problem.

I had two computers, one at each site, running an inter-tel network qualifier software. One was the server and the other was the client. One port was used as control, while the other one was used for audio. It showed something was blocked for some ports.

The question is, is there software, to be used between two sites, using two computers. One a server and the other one a client. That can test if a range of ports are open, between the two computers.

I tried several ip scan web sites, but if there isn't traffic flowing between the computers, the ports would probable show up as close, on a web scan.

I want to pass data between the two computers, over a range of ports, to see if those ports are open or not.

If anyone knows of a way to do this, I would like to know about it.

Thanks,

Mike
