we have the Inter-tel phone system in the building I work in and I have a verizon phone number. When I try and plug in an adapter into the phone jack so I can run two phones off the same line neither phone works is that the way the system is wired?

It depends on the phone type. A splitter would work on an analog port with two analog phones but it would not work on a digital port. Each digital phone has to be wired to its own digital port.

Look at the bottom of the phone. There should be a sticker with a model number that you can post and we can tell what you have.

THE DESK MODEL IS 8520 AND THE CORDLESS ONE IS INT4000 DO I NEED TWO OF THE SAME PHONE TO HAVE TWO COMING OUT OF THE SAME OUTLET?

SO IF THEY ARE DIGITAL CAN I HAVE TWO PORTS FOR THE SAME NUMBER? IF SO HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING THAT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE TWO PHONE WITH THE SAME NUMBER IN MY BUSINESS.
