I have an Access 9 system.
We have a PRI T1 for our main inbound calls / DIDs.
I also have several POTs line (VOIP like Vonage for outbound)
So my outbound calls hit the POTs first then the T1. - The T1 shows my main number in the caller ID.
The issue is with the Caller ID on the POTs. They obviously show their number and not my main number. People love to call back via caller ID espically from Cells. That's ok because they ring to my reception too. But we have a sister company that does not use our reception. And if someone returns their call via caller ID they get our reception. We can easily transfer the call to their HG but the caller gets confused and sometimes the calls go to us... and they get bounced around a bit.
I am not sure if there is a technial answer to this but has anyone had issues like this? What is the best way to handle? I would like to avoid getting a set of outgoing lines for for the sister company.
Maybe changing the caller ID on my POTs to just show name but I think thats too risky of being blocked or seen as a telemarketer call.

Change the outgoing extensions for your tenant to be the trunk group of the PRI instead of ARS. That way, they will never use the POTS lines for outbound calls.

Can I set the "outgoing" based on extension? I know I can change the caller ID on the extension and the PRI should pass it.

Yes you can for every extension under Associated Extensions - Outgoing Extension.

You'll also want to make sure that their outgoing button is not set up to access the trunk group directly or ARS.
If it's set for 8 for outgoing, it will use whatever the outgoing extension is under Associated Extensions.
