I have several 4000's we got back from a customer that won't ring. When the ring/vol button is pushed it rings loud and clear. When I call them on the test system intercom all I get is a beep. I've followed the manuals instruction to change ring tone but made no difference. Has anyone else had this problem and what do we do about it

I've never personally ran across this issue.
I'm thinking maybe if Handsfree is enabled on the cordless extension it might not do a full ring. Might be at least worth a try. A quick test would be to dial # and then the extension of the cordless on your test system to force it to ring.

That's what it was. I'm so used to the digital keysets programming being in the system and not on the phone it's self. Why the customer put them in hands free I'll never know. They were complaining about that and now that you came up with this answer I believe I fixed it for them once before. Thanks for the memory jog.
