I note that our mailbox always get filled up with message that state "There is a fault please try again". Each messages last for on average about 1 minute. I think its happening because when a caller opts or is forced to leave a message they hang up the call not leaving a message. I also note that some callers whom have left a short message of about 10-15 seconds the reminder part of the message is made up of this repeaed message, "There is a fault please try again". I would appreciate any help on ways that this can be resolved.

This sounds similar to what occurs here in the US when loop supervision is not provided by the local telephone service provider. When the caller hangs up (regardless of whether they leave a message or not), this supervision 'signal' informs the phone system of the abandoned call. This is then supposed to be conveyed to the voice mail system so that it will release and stop recording.

The "There is a fault" message is likely being sent from the telco, similar to our "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again" message.

Have you recently changed local service providers? This is often when this problem arises because most telco personnel are not aware of the requirement for this feature to be present on the lines. I would start by contacting them to verify if loop supervision signaling has been provisioned on all of the lines.
