The HDD in my Inter-Tel AXXENT crashed. We built a new HDD from scratch using MS-DOS 6.22 and then installed AXXENT Talk from the four diskettes I had.
Using the Database Programing utility I am able to connect to but when I click on "Database Save and Restore" I get the error message: "Warning: Some of the Save and Restore features are not available because Database Programing is unable to communicate with the AXXENT Talk."
Does this mean that AXXENT Talk is not running and if so, what might be the causes?

I'm not familiar with the Axxent Talk, but the error sounds as though the method of communication needs to be programmed into the Axxent Talk device. TCP/IP, serial, etc.

install a isa vga card to see what the avdap is doing behind the scenes.
