I want to call into the Mitel 5000, access DISA and change the forwarding of a phantom extension from off site. My client has: the auto attendant says " if you would like to reahch the afterhours on call staff dial 3 now". I took a phontom extention and showed them how to remote program (359) the extension and forward all calls to an outside line. Now they are asking if they can do it from off site.

Do we need a dedicated inbound line set up for day/night DISA? Can DISA be accessed through the auto attendant? The site only has 5 CO lines all in hunt. If I had a PRI then I could asign one of those trunks DISA and be good to go. But, I do not have that luxury! The only time they would be calling into the DISA trunk would be after hours and the AA is going to answer all the calls, that is why I was hoping to get to DISA from the AA.

Any thoughts?

I don't believe there is any way to get DISA through the Auto Attendant. The only place it's an option is on the Day and Night Ring-in Destinations of the CO Trunk Groups.

I would put one of the trunks in a separate CO Trunk Group. Program the same Day Ring-in Destination but then program the Night Ring-in Destination to be DISA. This is assuming that they use Day and Night Mode and not a STAR application. Also make sure to put that new trunk group as the 2nd option in each facility group so that they can fully access all 5 trunks for outbound dialing. All extensions would have to be programmed to use ARS as well.

Perfect! That will work exactly as you suggested. They do use ARS so they can still use that line and at night have access to DISA.
