We have two system and we want to network them. One is in a different office and the other one is in the main office.
We want both system to communicate to each other. For example, we want to be able to transfer a call to the extension on the other system.
One system is a Mitel 5000 and the other one is InterTel version 11
Thanks Benito

Do you have networking enabled on the licenses for both systems?
Do you want to do IP Networking or point to point T1?

I only have IP Networking in one system. I don't think that I have licenses for the other one. We already have a point to point set up for both office.
If I already have a point to point T1 between the two office how can I make both system communicate and see each other?
Thanks, Benito

There are two types of networking - IP Networking and T1 point to point networking.
1. IP Networking - you are going to need the networking license enabled on both systems. You are going to need networking channels or VOIP's enabled on both licenses. The Axxess system is going to need an IPRC card to handle the networking as well. You will also need to make sure that both locations are networked together on the LAN side. Once that is in place, the programming will have to be done by a qualified technician. It is rather easy but way too many steps and information for the open forums.
2. T1 point to point networking - you are going to need the networking license enabled on both systems. You will need a point to point T1 which you have mentioned is in place. You will need a T1/PRI card in both systems that will each connect to the router's on either end of your point to point T1. At that point, you will need a qualified technician to do the programming.
My recommendation would be to get your vendor involved as there are a lot of steps that need to be done to get this up and working.
Good luck!

For T1 networking, don’t forget a CSU/DSU at both ends capable of breaking out voice channels, similar to the Adtran TSU-120.
Yes, I know it’s discontinued. It was still in production the last time I did T1 networking, which was years ago.
