Some of my customer's users work alternately from home using an IP phone. I cannot figure out how to make both phones share the same mailbox. When a message is left on the in office phone, they want the indicator to show on both phones so they don't have to manage two mailboxes or remember to check voicemail when they are home.
Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately, you can only light/notify one msg light at a time. You can do a search on here for possible solutions. One involves an external Xarios server and one involves remote notification to a hunt group or to a cell phone.

If you have a newer version 5000 licensed for Dynamic Extension Express, message lights can be synched between multiple extensions.
Which phone system do you have?

Xarios has an application which allows the notification of multiple extensions. It offers a lot more as well. I wouldn't suggest buying it for that alone.

How does the 5000 do it? I'm not seeing those instructions anywhere.

If you have a newer 5000 version and a DEE license, you can light the message lights for phones that are associated with a user. Go to Users\Associated Destinations. Any device can have the MWI flag set to 'Yes.

I have a 5000 running V5.1 and an active DEE license. I cannot change the yes/no setting on any associated destination of a user. I click on it and nothing happens. The voicemail is handled by an Enterprise Messenger on another node. Would that be the issue?

Could it be that the associated extensions are on another node? The DEE stuff isnt node-aware.

The Mitel fairies are having fun with me. Now I can change the status. It appears a maximum of three stations can be added (Desk 2, Home IP and Home IP 2). This system has no digital devices. I'll wait and see if those work here when we upgrade our main PBX.
