I have recently "inherited" a Lucent system 85 PBX system. The standard desk phone is the analog 2500 set, but the Staff gets the 7403's. One of the managers is asking to have his phone set up for "speed-dial." He wants to hit one of the 10 buttons to dial an in-house 5-digit extension. I can find NO manuals anywhere in the plant. Can someone help me with this? Can it be done at all? Thanks in advance!

it has been years since I have worked on a sys. 85 but I believe you can speed dial from the 7403 phones. the buttons will have to be set up by the system administrator for abbreviated dial and then each user can program the button on their phone. good luck

System admin can set up personal speed dial lists and place on keys or set up abrv. dial key on set for user to program numbers

Thanks for the info - but sadly, I need more... we no longer have a sys admin for the system. I think I can muddle my way through the abbreviated dialing, but how will the user program the keys? What buttons, etc to do it? As I sadi, I have absolutely no manuals or instruction books on any of this old stuff.
