I have the following in service;

SERIAL MODEL MAKE VER LINES EXT’S

Existing
No Cabinet
92104.0287 Lucent Partner 206 Module R2.0 2 6
92196.0736 Lucent Partner 200 Module R2.0 2 -

and I wan to expand the number of POTS lines and add MOH,etc. So, I found the following spare system;

Yes Cabinet
Lucent Partner ACS 308EC Module R3.0 3 8
Lucent Partner II 400E Module R3.1 2+2 -
Lucent Partner ACS Proc 3.0 R3.0 3 8
Remote Access PCMCIA Card
MOH
2xAA Batteries

Is the latter compatable with the former, and is there anyone in the DC metro area interested in doing this for me? My background is in network engineering, but if the price is right I wouldn't mind paying someone to do this to avoid the headaches.

Thanks,

Yes the 206 modules will work with the ACS. I suggest that you use or get a newer 5 slot cabinet unless the ACS came with one ,then use that one.You can use a 2slot cabinet but the 5 is a better deal. Go to this link for installers.
Hope this helps

Ok, I found a installer from the list you recommended. Surprisingly, he was only 15 minutes away...

He convinced me to install it myself, which I feel I might be able to do based on my network engineering background.

I do have one or two more questions for the group though;

1. How do I access, program, use, utilize the PCMCIA card marked
"Partner Remote Access PC Card (Remote Access, Upgrade, Backup/Restore)"?

2. What is the "Contact Closure" port do and how do I use it?

3. What does the "SMDR" port do and how do I use it?

4. How do I use the "Page" port?

Thanks again for the groups help.

I'll try the first question, I don't have time for all of them, maybe others can join in. First, enter programming and press #123 (Backup Programming - Automatic)and press 1 for Active. Next press #124 (Backup Programming - Manual) & press enter. It will display when finished. You can do a #125 (Restore Programming) when needed. Hope this helps.

To answer acouple of questions.

1)The Partner Remote acess card is to store or retrieve your programming after you enter all your info.

2) The contact Closure port is commonly used to open a door by dialing a code from the phone.

3) The SMDR port is a printer port in which you can log in/out going calls to a serial printer.

4) The page port is used to page a party over the loudspeaker system, but you can page over the phones (MLS 6,12,18 or 18D,34D)

Give me a call and I will help go through the programming and help you understand it a little better. My number is in my profile. The best time to call is 5:00 mountain time.
