I recently upgraded to ACS rel 4.0 and added the Remote Access PC card. I have loaded the 4.0 software on my PC, set my remote admin password, connected my PC modem to extension 21, and set extension 21 to use the intercom. When I use the direct dial connection option in the software and dial extension 76, the modem answers and I get a message box that I am connected at 9600bps. I then get a second message box that reads "Session initiation with the PARTNER system has failed." According to the manual, I have completed the required tasks. Any ideas?

You don't have R3.0 remote software on the same PC do you? If yes, take it off.
Also make sure your modem rate is set to go as fast as it can. Other than that it sounds like you are doing it right.
If all else fails uninstall and then re-install the software.
Hope this helps

Good pointers, except, I would make sure your baud rate on your modem is set for no more than 19.2K. Sometimes, it'll try to set up a session and will make a carrier connect, but throughput will be a different speed. The modems just don't like to auto-range and 14.4 is the fastest you'll get on the remote card.

Also, be sure your password is in #730.

Lastly, you DID do a frigid start when you installed the R4 cpu, didn't you? (#939CLEAR) If not, don't try to save your programing to the backup/restore card (you'll save the corrupted bytes, too) do the frigid start and re-program. It *is* the only way.
