Please help!
The company I work for has a Partner System 3.1. I have the 355A adapter, an 8 Pin cable to go from the SMDR jack to the 355A adapter, a female to female serial cable and a windows pc. Can I used hyperterminal to capture the text that would be sent to the printer? Do I need to cross over the cable? If so, what is the configuration? I know the settings, 1200 baud, 8 bits, 2 stop bits, none parity, Xon/Xoff
Thanks for any help on how to do this in advance!

Mosy female to female cables are crossover cables so be careful that it is straighht through.
I just use a gender changer to make it female then use a simple DB25 to DB9 adapter. (or I use a 355AF that is already female)

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still having a problem. The DB25 female to female cable is straight through, (I had it made) and the computer I'm using (old!) has a 25Pin serial COM port, but I'm still not getting anything. Do you have any trouble shooting tips?
Thanks again.
Jeff

Get rid of the serial cable. Plug the 355 adapter straight into the com port, use a simple gender changer if needed. Make sure that it is com1 you are using on the computer and Hyper-terminal. Make sure the SMDR is set to send info as well. Email me if you need further assistance
