I'm confused.
In the programming manual, #301 just asks which button I want to assign and doesn't ask for the phone number I want routed to specific buttons.

We have 6 outside line buttons. I want 2 of those buttons dedicated to customers who call phone# 1 and the rest dedicated to customers who call phone# 2.
Please help!!
Thanks.

#301 should then ask you the option of (line 1 assigned yes/no then line 2 assigned yes/no) and so on so you would go system programming #301 enter ext 12 then line 1 assigned should show up press [next data] will unassign it and pressing [next item] will take you to line 2 so you can un assign it.

If you have 6 lines and want to have them on two buttons then you will have to have Pools. Pool #1 will take up the first two buttons, each pool after that can be put on one button. You can assign the lines of one Company to pool 1 and the lines of the other company to pool 2. That way you will know what Company they are calling.
Hope this makes sence to you. If we are not understanding what you are trying to do give me a call.

Well, first you need to get your local telephone company involved. You need a 2-line "hunt-group" with telephone#1 as the "pilot", and a separate 4-line hunt group with telephone #2 as the pilot.

Connect your lines to the ACS:
CO-1 Telephone #1
CO-2 Rollover
CO-3 Telephone #2
CO-4 Rollover
CO-5 Rollover
CO-6 Rollover

In programming, dial #301, then the Extension number, then dial the line number (01 for line 1, 02 for line 2, etc.), then EITHER dial 1 to assign it to the next available button, OR dial 3 and press the button you want to assign it to.

When either line 1 or 2 rings, the caller has dialed telephone#1, and when line 3-4-5 or 6 rings, the caller has dialed telephone#2.

On an ACS you can assign a different ring sound to different lines. Ring tones 2-7 are just plain weird; I would suggest regular ring tone #1 for CO1 & 2, and ring tone #8 for CO 3-4-5-6.
