Hello, I am really tired of My Audiovox, Motorola Cellphones from Verizon. Looking at replacing with a PDA Phone. Was looking at the Palm Treo 650. Very expensive!! Works great in the store but, don't they all. Any of you who have experience with this or any other PDA/Cellphone. Can you let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
Rick

I have one. It has a lot of neat features. I think it does just about everything. I do have one complaint though. The buttons are very small. So when you are trying to type on the go or very quickly you fat finger the keys a lot.
If I had to do it again I think that I would look at the Blackberry or Pocket PC.

I agree. Great for contacts, email and text messaging. Also has built in camera and camcorder. BUT, driving while attempting to dial a phone number can be quite a task. Using the touch screen to dial is great when you are still, but when driving I spend more time starting over due to fat fingering. Thanks, Chaz

i agree with the button issues. it is also missing a voice dial feature which would help with dialing while drive.
also the available memory kinda sucks too. you'll really need a sd card if you are going to add a bunch of apps, mp3, etc.....

"Works great in the store but, don't they all."
Never thought about it until we were hired to install several repeaters at cell phone company retail stores, but I would imagine it is a common pratice with most. Wouldn't look good to go in to buy a phone and have little or no service in the store. Just keep in mind everything is not always as it seems.

I've had a blackberry for the past three months, don't know how I managed without it.

They are neat, but if one part dies, you lose the whole thing until it's repaired. Get a good phone with the features you like, and get a separate PDA.

I carry a Nextel for work, and a Danger (T-Mobile) Sidekick II as my PDA/phone for personal, and for getting and responding to my email while on the road. I wouldn't recommend the Sidekick for business. It's more for kids. I only first got it because my wife is deaf and so she and I each have one to utilize the instant messaging feature. You can't beat the unlimited data plan. Nobody can touch it. I also have a pretty good voice plan. One thing's for sure though, I'm happy I switched from my original Color Sidekick to the Sidekick II. MUCH BETTER in many ways. If you wonder about the SK, and want to know why I don't recommend it for business, just read some of the threads at www.hiptop.com. Just be sure to bring your street slang dictionary! See a picture and demo video of the Sidekick II on T-Mobile's website. I'm sure you can find that one on your own. By the way, here in California, I believe TMO piggy-backs on the Cingular network, as TMO doesn't have the infrastructure. The coverage is o-kay. It's definitely better now that I have the SKII, as it has a more improved radio device in it from the Color SK. It's still hit and miss sometimes. And it's funny how going under some overpasses will drop the call like a bad habit! ------------------ | Signal Communication Systems - Fresno, CA | | Telephone Systems, Voicemail Syste... & Data Cabling - Central Valley, CA [This message has been edited by 5years&counting (edited August 03, 2005).]

I have a Blackberry 7100 series. Very stable platform that integrates perfectly with Outlook. It not only a good PDA with instant email, it's works very good as a phone. Very well put-together package. I hear the new Treos are still having trouble with Bluetooth.

i got tired of my treo650 freaking out on me so i stepped it up to a samsung i730 pocketpc phone the other day. so far the only downside is that it has no camera (no biggie i always carry a cheapo digital anyway), and the price.
