I'm trying to install a headset on a 4424 D set. I order the m-10 cable and headset for the phone, programmed the headset status and the headset hangup buttons on the phone and I get nothing. I verifty that the cable and headset works. I also tried other phones in the system and still nothing, I was wondering if it could be a bad processor or a bad digital card.

If I save translations and install a new processor would that clear the problem or should I reprogram the whole system. Any help would be appreciated.

Before you do anything drastic try the following Headset Options codes and see what happens.
Auto Answer *780
Hang Up *781
Mute *783
Status *782

How are you verifing the headset and cable work. Are you using an M-10 base unit, or an acutal HIC-1 adapter cable for the headset. If you are using an M-10 or M-12, check the position switch on the side of the unit. Different systems will require the switch to be set on a differet number, 1-5 on older models, 1-6 on new ones.

I Added the features in cent. program on the console. The cable is M-10 connector on one side and a handset plug on the other and I plugged it straight in the bottom of the phone. The headset is an H-51. You can hear anything for the headset. The company I purchased it for said that it is a problem with the processor. Is this possible?

try plugging a handset into the headset jack on the bottom on the phone, and see if it works

Are you using just the cable, or an actual M-10 headset base unit?
