I believe you do not want to set up phantom extensions. You should set up calling groups. Call me 360-771-2044 Scott

Take an unused adjunct extension and renumber it to a meaningful extension in your dialplan. Take an unused calling group (771?) and make the adjunct the only member in it. Set the threshold for time to ~23 seconds, the overflow number to 99 and the coverage to the voicemail hunt group. Create a box in the voicemail for the adjunct.

You can then make the calling group (771) a member of the group answering calls. If a call is unanswered after the timer, it goes to voicemail and takes a message.

That's basically it. Some tweaking may be required.

The easiest way that I have found to do this is to use the extra station numbers associated with the 007 mlm module. Even though it only uses 7 ports, the system sees it as a 12 port card. just use the 8th thru 12th ports or renumber them if you want them to be different extension numbers. Go into your coverage group assigned to the voicemail caling group (ususlly 30 or 1) and add the station numbers there. If you want them to answer sooner, then change the group coverage delay for those extension numbers.

I don't remember but one of those ports are for the built in modem on the mlm. I think it's the 8th port or 9th. have to pull out the docs.

you can transfer in using procomm or hypertwerm.

It is actually the 7th port, which is called the remote access port. I have never heard of you being able to use procomm or Hyperterminal, so I would be interested in how that works if anyone has any info.

In respond to Z-man ,yes you can use hyperterminal to log in either remotely or direct ,first you have to set up like this 1200,n,1.
if you using direct connection use null modem cable DB9 ,once you open session it will ask for the password once you enter it ,you will see the menu with about 9 options from start up to disp .config, etc..
its only good not to program but for maintenace.and for remote you will use the same setting and you make a call and you asked to be transfered to 7th. ext no on that card ,because the 7th is built in modem.
Good luck.
