Hello I have a partner acs R1.0 and trying to install VM R1 . I have a 5 slot carrier with a 206ec in slot 1 and 2. The 308 proc is in center slot and i put partner vs R1 in slot 3. When i power up the diag looks correct and finishes with just green power light. The phone sys when a call comes in starts short rings with line 1&2 flashing and going solid. Inc also starts flashing and ringing. Are these versions compatible? supposedly checked out ok, but before i return it thought i would ask. Old phone man, but obviously not on lucent. Thanks Joe

Turn off ringing on your VM ports.

It sounds like you have your VM answering all calls. To change your ringing you must program your VMS Hunt Schedule (#507) so it will answer day or night or both, it sounds like you have some programming to do.

did you install the exts 78/79 to the hunt group, #505, group 7?

This assumes your Partner Messaging R1 is a 2-port, if 4-port add Ext. 32 & 33.
You DONT need to program ringing or auto line select to Voice Mail ports, when they are put into Hunt Group 7 (via #505-7), these are automatically done for you (even though when you look at the VM ports in Centralized Telephone Programming they still show immediate ring, the ring is controlled through the VMS Hunt Delay, #507)

It looks like you have wrong Ext in prog.#505,thats the only thing can make that problem ,so make sure you check the ext in that prog. #505 group 7 and only the ext of the VM should be there , if you said its VS then it should be Ext 34, 35, but if you have partner messaging R1 then it should be ext 30 and 31.
