So, have any of you installed/worked with Avaya's IP Office products? I'm curious as to how it performs on a network when there are a huge amount of stations. It would seem to be like bandwidth would be a huge issue considering that it's coexisting with a computer network as well.
Any info would be appreciated.

The IP Office uses little bandwidth in and of itself, since it is both a TDM & IP Hybrid, you can use digital or analog stations and never hit the IP network.
However, I persume you mean IP Stations? There are a number of factors that play a part in the answer. 1) The compression algorythm chosen. 2) The number of IP phones vs. dig/analog phones and the total number of VCM Channels. 3) 10/100 or 1000 kbs 4) Is there a VLAN setup? 5) Is QOS turned ON? 6) Etc, etc, etc. The bottom line... We have installed a system with 45 IP phones and we are not filling 10/100 ethernet!

I have installed over 100+. The key is understanding IP networks and understanding the IPOffice product. If you jump in with no data background you may find yourself and the customer frustrated. If you do your homework you can put this system against any similar IP product on the market and kill them. So it’s up to you. I have heard success stories and horror stories.
