I understand the Partner Mail V3 is from 1996, which is a thousand years ago in the phone biz.
Which is better Partner Messenger or Partner Mail??
I installed 4 VS's and 2 craped out...
And I dont want to tie up slots on the acs or Partner II
Thank you

Partner Messaging is going to need a slot. You had a few posts' about the stand alones you asked about. If you don't want to use a slot then I personally would go with Octel or Key Voice. I can't understand why you have so many VS's going out. I don't think I can recall any of ours doing that.
Good luck

there was a batch of VS systems that had bad drives.
The biggest drawback to the Avaya/Lucent voice mail systems is that they have proprietarty parts and can't be serviced in the field. That is why I like the key voice so much. I can repair anything that is wrong with it in a matter of a couple hours, usually right on the customer sight. With that being said, I have only had to repair 3 or 4 of them, and 2 were due to lightning hits and the other two were kits that used questionable PC's to begin with. All the rest have been solid, but it is a nice piece of mind knowing you won't have to send it anywhere to fix it. That is why I am able to give a two year warranty on all the ones I sell.

Partner Mail standalone requires free extension ports to plug into, so the saving of a slot needs to be compared with the required ports under the Partner Mail scenario. If it's a 6 port Partner Mail, leaving space for a 206 module would only provide additional line port capacity.
I've too experienced problems with VS Mail hardrives - they crap out when dust or other shavings get through grating on top of module. Have'nt experienced this problem with Parnter Messaging releases so far.
