I would hate to see the Partner system dropped. I just read all about release 7 which was just released this month. The processor is now a "509" card, with no more dedicated paging port. Now you have to use a open CO line port for paging. I hope they keep it around...
I thought you said that your system was down...

The Partner ACS will be around for quite awhile , they are due to release R7 and there is talk of an expansion cab in the future for mid size companies to replace the Magix, the IP will be for the migration from the Partner to a larger system. The Magix will be exiting stage left.
At least that's what my sources tell me and they are usualy right on the money, and to be honest I can't see them discontinuing the Partner due to it's popularity.

What I have heard, and I don't know that this is totally reliable, is that Avaya was going to drop all TDM systems as of 2006-2007. I'm glad they're dropping the magix, it's always been an overpriced, hard to manage switch, compared with similar switches from other vendors.

I agree with the Partner being around for quite a while. In our part of the country, they are extremely popular. It would be nice if they came out with a new generation of phone sets, though. I like the 18D, but a change would be nice.

Do you have a url for the source of that rumor about Avaya dropping the Partner and Magix products? I'd sure like to see that one. We've wrestled with the idea of promoting the IPOffice for small single site clients instead of the Partner and Magix, and if those platforms are going away, it would be good to know for certain. What would you say the max number of people would you put on the 412? It says it can have up to 360 extensions and I was also told up to 500 now. Can anyone with this many users give me some feedback?

360 phones (analog, digital and/or IP) on a single system. Up to 500 phones using small community networks across up to 16 systems total (the 360 phone max per system still holds true).
