I found a company that advertizes the Diagnostic module for the Merlin II. I know the Merlin II is almost ancient technology but it still works. When I look up the part number [61389A] on Avaya, Lucent, or AT&T, the search comes back with no results. Does anyone know if the module really exists? If it does exist, what exactly does this module do? I want to know more before spending the money.

Number 61388A is a Merlin II ring generator but I have no list of a 61389A either. Maybe it's something made by another company. It doesn't seem to be in the Merlin II manufacturing era.
Here's a point, though,---can't you upgrade to a Legend CPU module---and then you basically have a Legend?? That would certainly take it out of the realm of "ancient technolgy" in my book. Let's wait for the Avaya moderators to join in. They're the experts. Good Luck.

Do you know anything about Barclay Enterprises Inc? I found the Diag. Module listed on their website (https://www.barclayent.com/)

I've heard of Barclay---they refurbish phone equipment. Have you tried clicking on "Equipment" link on this site--they might be able to help out. Also--you have several big refurb houses in your area.

Rudy,

What kind of connector is on this Diagnostic module? Where can I find one? Where can I find more information on it?

Thanks,
Merlin

I would suggest to just upgrade to a legend; even a early release then you would have remote programming.

Thanks. I appreciate the suggestion. I have long range plans for upgrading to a much larger switch. I have many of these Merlin II systems and thought that having this diagnostic unit in the mean time would be beneficial.
