Just added a second cabinet with DS1 card. Provider heated up the T1 and we got the alarms to clear, but Magix is not Winking back when provider sends Wink. I've set up ESF, B8ZS, Robbed Bit, DID, Wink, Touch Tone.
Couple of questions... 1. Provider says clock should be set to "external". When I try to set sync to common channel, it won't stick. It just keeps going back to robbed bit. Is "external" clock commaon channel or robbed bit?
2. The provider installed a their own CSU. I connect directly to it (NO Acculink). All channels are voice, no data. Is this ok?
3. What are the meanings of Foreign Exchange vs. Special Access?
Thanks Hammer

Is this a PRI or T1? I think PRI is always robbed bit.

Robbed bit and common channel is not the same as clocking source.
For primary clocking goto Lines/trunks>more>ClockSync
and promary is where you set external as the source

Make sure you have touch-tone gen/receivers if you are using DTMF. Clocking defaults the primary source to network. Set your trunks to Foreign Exchange.

Could not get T1 up after 6 hours of work, just some progress. I can get the amber light on the card to come on now and alarm goes out. Yet provider still does not get a Wink back from Equip.
ESF, B8ZS, Robbed Bit, DID, Wink, Touch Tone, Foreign Exchange, ClockSync Loop.
"Make sure you have touch-tone gen/receivers if you are using DTMF" - Is this a seperate card than the T1 or just a prog setting?
The provider is telling me the T1 needs to be DID + Wink, yet another vender has said TIE + TIE-PBX??? I tried every combination -DID; TIE; Loop and they all failed.

DID is used when you expect inbound DID service only. If you expect in and outbound service from the same trunks, you must set your trunks to TIE lines. Is this a full or partial T-1? You may be able to set the the inbound signaling to auto instead of wink. Just a thought. your problem is most likely that you have the trunks set for DID when they need to be set to TIE Line, Toll. Only equip those trunks you are using.

Full 24 channels of voice, used for inbound and outbound, block of 100 DID's. I tried TIE, but not Toll. Will try that tomorrow...
To make matters worse, an 016 module fried at 4:55p taking the whole system down with it. Had 30 minutes of fun figuring out which module died.

Make sure the Provider set the T-1 as Custom. It has to be custom to work with Magix and legend.

Custom is for PRI, this is an E&M T-1. Setup using TIE-Toll robbed-bit. Just for kicks give the service provider a hard-loop 1to4 2to5. Make sure they see the same T-1 you are plugged into. Bypass the CSU to eliminate it as problem while you test the config.
