Hi all,

I'm looking for a very inexpensive system for my house. The house is already wired for Cat5, and it all goes down to a patch panel. I was looking at the Merlin 820D2 with the BIS phones. I've always liked these phones, and was thinking about picking a system up on ebay. I don't need VM at all. First of all, is perosonalized ringing supported on this model (R2)? Are the 8 cadences the same as the Definity cadences? Also, any advice for where to buy a 820D2; ebay, someplace else??

Thanks,
Matt

The only ringing for the 820D is direct, delayed or no ring. You can pick one up on ebay but I would be careful, you would be better off getting one from a refurb house that you know is in good working order.

I'm sorry, I meant the acutal ring "tones", not the ringing options. Any good suggestions for refurb houses for an 820D2?

If you put the phone in programming mode with the t-p switch on the side then you can press the speaker button to change the ring. It eight different rings. All of the lines on that particular phone would ring the with the tone you choose and it is set at each phone

Thanks everyone. I think I've got a good idea about the 820D2. I appreciate everyone's input!

Thanks,
Matthew
