Why does my door phone which is a trunk line on my console go to voicemail after 4-5 rings?

I will take a stab at this question. My guess is from the door phone side is that the trunk is covered to voicemail.

If it is from the the console side, it is probably the phone that is covered to the voicemail group.

Good Luck

First question is where does the door phone need to ring? You could set this line up on a phantom extension that does not have coverage to voice mail, then on the console put a primary coverage button for the phantom extension with immediate ring on it. This is one way around your problem

Would there be a problem because it is on the console?

It sounds like that trunk is set as the principle user for that extension, if a trunk is set as a principle user for an extension it will cover to that extensions mail box.

On a Legend, if a trunk is NOT in a Pool (which your door phone trunk is not), and does NOT have a Principal User, by default it will cover to the voice mail of the lowest logical ID that has voice mail coverage.

The solution is to assign the line to an unused adjunct extension and make IT the principal user of that trunk. Since the adjunct is not in the voice mail coverage group, the door phone calls will stop going to voice mail, they will just ring until answered or abandoned.
