Most business's around here have acct codes set up through the phone company. That way when the monthly phone bill arrives, it lists what acct code dialed what #.

I thought you said that your system was down...

rich, the Magix definition of account codes suggests that they are not identified in a system programming data base and are not verified before being associated with an outbound call. account codes are accecpted as dialed by the user. would you be referring to Magix authorization codes?

One way to do it on a Magix is to make a "phantom" extension for each user. These phantoms are unrestricted, and given an Authorization Code. Then the physical phones are restricted to local and toll free. Using authorization codes, you "become" that other extension for that one call.

thanks guys,

XConnect, Cavalier doesn't seem to want set acct codes up. I want forced acct. codes. So if they don't put them in they don't get out.

Dude, I guess I have my terminology mixed up. Are Magix authorization codes the same as barrier codes?

Touch Tone, this sounds like it would work, but I could not give then new ext #'s at the desk as they have DID's.

See what has happened is someone is hacking into the system from a pay phone in Bronx NY and making international calls. I turned transfer restrictions on in the Merlin 2.5 mail. now I would like to force them to input a code in order to go out over the PRI, at least long distance.

thanks for the help and patience guys.

rich
