I have Transfer restrictions turned of in Merlin Messaging 2.5 how else could someone be getting out and making international and LD calls at weird hours of the night?

what happens when you dial 0 in the voicemail
dones it transfer to operator. have a customer that has at&t phone sevice and when somebody dialed 0 they got an at&t operator who then placed the ld calls for them.

They dont use AT&T. If they press O while in Vm or the AA it goes to and a dummy ext the oprator can see on a button and can pick up or let it go to that ext voicemail.

where is trunk to truck transfer? is it off by default? remote access is set to off.

If none of your customers are using the outcalling feature, make sure you restrict your vm ports under extentions to outward restrict, and also set your FRL restriction for the vm ports. If the ports for your voice mail aren't restricted someone could definitely pull that off.

Have you checked SMDR? I've got a customer that has been getting calls from people that say the customer called them, it turns out that one of the prepaid phone card companies shows one of the customer's numbers as caller id.

I think turning transfer restriction off is the opposite of what you want.
