One of my customers is getting a LD T1 from Qwest. We requested a PRI circuit for the calling ID function. Qwest says they can't do a PRI because of equipment. They tell us it will be a standard T1(robbed bit) with PRI signaling, no D-channel type PRI. What the heck is this? I never heard of it. Maybe they are talking about standard two way DID service and sending caller ID info. But that doesn't do me any good on a Magix. Caller ID is only available on a Magix PRI correct? the Qwest reb says they do this type of T1 all the time on Northern, but that is probably an option series or BCM which can take standard caller ID across the T1.

New to me. PRI signaling is common-channel(out-of-band) not robbed-bit(in-band). The best I can figure is maybe they are providing Caller ID DTMF signaling after the wink before/after the DNIS digits. We can support that with Definity but not Magix/Legend. Ask the rep for this service type brand name so we can investigate.
