hi all, when connecting to a partner acs can i just put mod connectors on wires and into system or 66 block then into system or patch panel then system. also the lines can i go from demarc to system or one of the above. also can i use a fax machine without going directly into acs system, can i plug it the phone aux jack on the 18d phones

Terminate and label the station cables on the right side of a 66 M150 split block or blocks depending on number of stations. Make cords with one modular connector and terminate them on the left side of the 66 block and label them with the extension numbers. Plug the cords into the appropriate extension jacks on the control unit and place bridging clips on the 66 block to connect the equipment to the station wiring. You can also use a patch panel and label one set of jacks as station cables and another set as extensions with patch cords between. The customer can then do his own station rearangement. You can use the aux. jack on a 18d for a fax but you can't be on the fax and the phone at the same time. I usually just assign another extension number to the fax if I have a spare.

but where would i put the outside lines, i have 4 line on the c.o.'s 66 block (on the right side) but using my own 66 block, do i put 4 wires on the left side of there's to the right side of mine(66 block)and then to the system. also i have a 4 rows of pins 66 block i guess 2 pins on each side, right? i hope i explained this right

Just make some additional modular cords from station wire with a modular plug on one end. Punch down one end on the block with the 4 co lines and plug the end with the modular plug into the line jacks on the processor and expansion units. Yes two rows of pins per side.

Use a quality mod plug crimp tool and proper mod plugs. I've cleared a lot of troubles that were related to poor connections or crimps. Throw the dime store crimp tool away!
