Installing this Voicemail, would the first 2 extensions on that card or does it use the last 2? its only a 2 port system. Well i should have searched the site b4 i asked. I put the first 2 ports in 771, set it to intergrated, enabled rotary, set to linear, yet i get ring no answer. should i be able to dial the ext. directly?

Well you've already researched it, but:
Yes, the extension ports go from bottom to top. The 7th port is an internal modem for remote configuration reports.
You should be able to dial the extension number of each of the ports directly, and be answered as "welcome to merlin mail". If you're not, try the paper clip on the VM Reset button. If you have a PC running hyperterminal, connect to the serial port, 1200-N-8-1, and watch it boot up, make sure everything is OK.
You don't need to rotaty enable the ports on the 007MLM, as they use DTMF to communicate.
Other than that, you're on the right track.
