Could someone tell me the proper way on shutting down the Merling Legend with a 007 board. I don't like just shutting the power off.
Thanks

The link brings me to their page, but none of the links on that page works.

If you only have one backplane, just power it down with the main switch. If you have 2 or 3, power down left to right and up right to left.

Thank you for the reply. What worries me is shutting off the 007 voice mail by just powering down the system. I purchased a used system and am just playing with it in my spare time to get it set up for a friends business. I don't want to leave it turned on 24/7 if I'm only going to set it up on the weekends.

If you bought a used system for your friends business, you should leave it on for a week or two. Sometimes problems do not show up with these systems until they have been powered up for 48 hours or more. When programming the system, do a backup to the PC memory card before powering down. This will save your programming if the CMOS battery on the processor is going dead. The 007 is like a standalone computer. It has an internal hard drive. Every time you perform a programming change it writes it to the HDD. I am assuming after it saves it puts the HDD back in park. Avaya documentation says it will recover from a power failure. But with anything, the more you power it up and down the weaker some of the components get. In a business it is a good idea to have a UPS to plug the system into. This will prevent power resets during transitional power bumps. It will also protect from surges or spikes.
