Test-ok, in a nutshell the chances of 2 people accessing voicemail, even a tiny one are greater than 4 at the same time. Besides, have you seen the prices on some of the new systems with flash voicemails?

The most important thing to do is check references! This advice is always posted with these types of questions but it IS just (if not more) as important as the phone system. When it locks up, shuts down ect, will they be there for you. Will they sell cheep now then add fees to installation ect. What will they charge for service work in the future. Are they giving you references of customers with the same product that you are purchasing? Check Ref.and you wont get burned. If one co. seems more prof. and the price is 2-5 hundred more spend the extra now to save later. I don't know much about the NEC DS system, I here its ok, For applications like yours I pitch the TADIRAN (SPRINT) ICE systems. Very reliable, inexpensive, ect. The NEC 48 is a good system but you may not know the history of a used phone system. ------------------ www.tgcommunications.net [This message has been edited by tom@tgcomm (edited August 23, 2005).]

Test-ok, in a nutshell the chances of 2 people accessing voicemail, even a tiny one are greater than 4 at the same time. Besides, have you seen the prices on some of the new systems with flash voicemails? I understand that. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) I have always had a formula for voicemail, one port for every 4 lines if used for after hour only, and 2 ports for every 4 lines if used during the day as an auto attendant. I would usually apply it so the customer who was needing a system could get all the features they needed at the lowest price. Like when starting up an office, the phone system is just one item which is why they need to watch their pennies. And if they grow in a hurry..their making money, or should be..then it doesn't matter, they can then afford the over kill or they can afford and need the upgrade to a larger voicemail unit and have the same features they would have when the original purchase was conducted but at a lower price. But it does depend on how it's going to be used and if the customer is going as cheap as they can.(and there's nothing wrong with cheap, that's how some businesses stay in business) That's how I've operated and why, from a sales prospective and I'm sure some of you do it differently and your mileage may vary. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) and no I'm not too familiar with the new flash mail, can you elaborate? ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) [This message has been edited by test-ok (edited August 24, 2005).]

why do think i aint touching this one........ Whys that? It's hard to figure out the customer needs on line, in person you can see the building and space their in, what existing wirings in place and recommend the best equipment to fit the customer...doing this on line is a bit more difficult. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) ------------------ | Need a Telephone | Telephone Installers

Because the person has shopped the Internet and has prices in his mind.......
And obviously he is a price shopper and not concerned with HIGH QUALITY SERVICE & SUPPORT...
So I am staying out of this one......
