I believe that normally, on standard-type G3 cabinets, the remote maintenance connection is the 25th pair of the AUX connector. Does the external modem used with a Prologix cabinet (CMC) replace this connection? The pinout chart (page 106) of the TN798 "octopus" type cable indicates that the pins which would terminate at the 25th pair (v/sl sl/v) are just grounds. Am I thinking correctly? https://support.avaya.com/japple/cs...p;temp.bucketID=160259&PAGE=Document

yes. I use external modems on my prologix. On SI or R you can use the 25 pair on AUX.

liquidvw, I have attached a modem to my Prologix cabinet. I *think* I have everything set properly, but I don't get a DTR indicator on the modem, so I had to program it to force it to answer. I still don't know if it works properly.
Is the non-DTR state normal?

You should use a US robotics sportster modem. Once connected the TR and CS lights will should be on at idle. Other type of modems may or may not work.

-sigh- Yep, I can't get my non-USR modem to work. I'm going shopping for the correct one today. I'm a little distressed that I'm not getting a DTR light with any of the modems I've tried.
