My relatives have a small partner basic (baby partner) running in their business. However, they want to upgrade the system without spending the money for an ACS. I reccommended something along the lines of a partner II or partner plus processor. My main question is: Can I plug in a partner basic and Partner Plus/II proc into a carrier and have the 206 standalone card function as a standard 206 card with the Partner II/Plus processor in control. I was also wondering if partner plus supports caller ID (w/ 206ec card of course), because I know that partner II does, however I was unsure about partner plus.

Yes, you can stick the Partner System cards into a carrier along with a Partner Plus or Partner II processor. Remember to change out the nicad battery in the processor before you do so.

No, CID was only available on the Partner II, late releases, with, as you pointed out, EC cards.

Just another quick question,

Lets say I have a partner II processor that is R4.0, will it work with 206EC cards that are of the 4.1 vintage?

Yes, the later line and station cards are compatible with earlier processors. Earlier 206 cards (don't remember the release, but much earlier than the 4's) would not light MW lites on S/L phones, but that's about all I recall.

Thanks for all your help, but, I found a really good deal on an ACS R6 and convinced them to buy it instead. Upgrades are certainly out of the question since the R6 has all the features that they wanted plus features that they didn't even know existed. Are there any reoccuring/common problems on the ACS R6 that I should let them know about? Because, as far as I know, it's pretty reliable.
