If I were you I would go to avaya.com and download the manual, the step by step info you need is all in there.

the default is log in to VM using 0# with the default password. if [default password] doesnt work.. then its been changed and as far as i know there is no way to retrieve it other than resetting the system

It would be in the VS manual in the Auto Attn and selector codes. But like I said it will have to be VS5 to have that option.
