Hi everyone, hope to hear your views on this topic.

We have been doing cabling for 11 years now mainly installation of data (copper & fiber)& phone cables. Have also added electrical, cctv, video, audio, door access & cabletv cabling also in the last few years. We also installed phone system, cctv cameras, door access system although not much.

I was just thinking of venturing into sales of cables also & doing it seriously (esp to overseas market). Have sold some locally eg. UTP, Fiber patch cords but not much.

Any views or experience that you can share. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, it seems that the market is flooded with overseas marketers of patch cords, etc. I don't see that you could make a whole lot of money with importers all over the place, including e-bay.

There's nothing wrong with experimenting, but I wouldn't invest a lot of money or sign major manufacturing commitments until you test the water for a while. Patch cables and cable assemblies have become such a commodity that I don't even shop for prices, they are just about all the same from importers.

Just my opinion.
