Issue;
I have a partner ACS R5 with messaging R1 currently using a 4 port card and originally one addition 308Ec R3.0 6 line 16 extensions in a 5 slot carrier. Slot configuration is L to R 308EC R3.0 Partner Messaging 1.0, Processor ACS R5.0. As expected I am growing so I ordered another 308EC in R3.0 I performed a backup and powered down the sys, installed the board and powered back up (All looks good). I copied #399 extension 14 me to the new extension 32 (Should be 32 since messaging is holding 26 – 31). I went into messaging and created the new mailbox assigned to ext 32 with a phone plugged into the unit. Here goes I can intercom Ext 32 and it rings and I get VM, I can access the messaging system through Int-777 get mail etc. If I call from an outside line and the AA answers enter ext32 it tells me it is transferring, now station 10 rings and passes through to the general mailbox. If at this time I *8 and Transfer to 32 it rings ad VM works. Thus the issue is AA is not transferring me to the extension.
Please go easy on me I am new at this and most often do my settings and updates through the PC interface as my PEE brain struggles with the flow of the programming overlay. If I can get this right the next step is to add a 6 port messaging card and I am not sure if this will play into me just moving the AA-Messaging extensions from 26-32 further up.
This is a great board my hats off you guy’s.
BTW my local dealer has been no help in resolving many other prior issues so I have had to put my engineering skills to work here.
Thanks,
Rick

When you added an 308 that changed the ports on your VM card.
Shoot me an e-mail and would be glad to help you with this.
I will be in the office in the morning. 8am est.

When you added an 308 that changed the ports on your VM card.
Well, no it didn't but it ain't right either. The messaging module always should be in the last slot after the other mods. That means you need to remove the messaging, put your new 308 there and put the messaging in the next slot (where you have the 308 now).
Your extension ports will be X10 through 33.
You will then have to reassign the VM ports to reflect the change (#506,7). They will be X34, 35, 36 and 37. Also, make sure you remove the old ports- X26, 27, 28 and 29.
Go into the VM administration and create mailboxes for the new extensions as required, make sure you confirm that the extensions have a phone (9).
Now assign Auto VM Cover to those extensions with #310.

Hal;
Thanks so much that worked, But i do not understand the extension ordering based on the carrier slot location I/E slot1 308 #1 ext. 18-25 slot 2 308 #2 ext 26-33 Slot 3 Processor Ext 10-17 ? does the prosessor Auto assign?
I am now adding the 6 port VM Card am I correct that I only need backup, add card, restore, and add 38 & 39 to the (#506,7)?

You need 34/35/36/37/38/39 to #505 With the 6 port mail assuming 34-37 are there yes add 38/39.
With the acs the exts start in the middle slot with 10-17 ,then to the left slot if you will and move to the right the mail is always to the right of the last ext card.
If you add another 3x8 move the mail to the right new ext 34-41 for phones and 505 mail ext become 42 and up.
after its prog dial 34-39 individually to confirm mail answers.

does the prosessor Auto assign?
No, not exactly. Extensions and lines are assigned starting with the processor in the center then from left to right depending on the expansion module. There are 206's 308's 400's, 012's and the old 200.
All Partner Messaging and Mail VS modules are seen by the system as a 206 module- 2 CO lines and 6 extensions so if you put one in the middle of a lineup the next logical two CO line numbers and six extension numbers will be assigned to it depending on what's before it. Obviously there will be holes in the CO line numbering as well as the extension order but it will work.
When the messaging is in the next available slot after all the expansion modules where it belongs you have concurrent CO line and station numbering.
I am now adding the 6 port VM Card am I correct that I only need backup, add card, restore, and add 38 & 39 to the (#506,7)?
That's correct though there is no need to backup before, though it couldn't hurt. Be sure to do it after you make the changes.

Actually, the VS mail and Partner Messaging are seen as an "006" card, NO lines. If you put a 206, 308, or 400 module AFTER a voice mail, the lines will pick up where they left off with the previous card.
Early ACS's have an issue with 400 cards and VS mail, forcing you to put the 400 after the VS mail to be able to even power up.

Thank you all for the help all seem to be working fine.
So it is my assumtion through reeding the documentation (really I have, though quite vague) and listening to you guy's that in a 5 slot carrier the processor must allways be in slot 3 ??
