I installed an ACS release 7 (4 lines, 7 ext) and a partner Voice Messaging with a 4 port card and it has worked flawlessly for 10 months. It was programmed with an auto attendant that directed callers to the correct extension.
This morning when the office manager came in the outgoing calls were ok but the incoming calls were lighting up all the lines red on ext 10. When this occurred the auto attendant reported to callers that the call was being transferred. This occurred before any action was taken by the caller.
It is likely that there was a power failure over the weekend.
Before I became involved today the system was powered down for several minutes and then powered up. This had no apparent effect.
The initial step I took was to reprogram ext 19-22 to group 7. I did that and the red light problem went away but the system now acts as if the messaging system did not exist. For example the calls come in on the first available line on ext 10.
I have a backup in a PC disk file. I tried to restore the ACS from this file but when I try to connect to the ACS system from the PC application it will not accept the password and I am quite certain that the password is the one which I used the last time I connected.
Is there a way to reset the password?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks Pete Gerster

Well first off throw away your laptop and start programming from X10 or 11.
If you dial Intercom 777 what happens?
If that works check to see that all CO lines are still assigned under 206,7.
If that works I wouldn't do a restore from what may be there. Default it (#xxxxxxxx) and start from scratch then back it up.
hal i took out default pw maybe you could email it ken

I was able to reset the remote administration password on the ACS module with #730 and restore the ACS from a PC backup. It seems to be working now. Thanks for the quick replies.
