Looking at replacing the old r3 merlin mail on our legend. Any good options we should consider? We likely need at least 6 ports. The VM is a crisis, so it needs replacing ASAP, but we might want to replace the switch itself in the next 6 - 12 months.
If all of our inbound calls hit an autoattendant, does that change the dynamic? If the magix messenger only has 4 auto attendants, that that is likely of no help to me if my existing VM only has 4 ports, right? If I need > 4 AAs, what should I be looking at?
How does the licensing work for the Magix messenger? If you buy a 6 port license, and later determine you need to upgrade to 8 port, do you need to do a forklift replacement, or is this just a software license upgrade? Can you just buy a 2 port license, or need to sell back the 6 and buy 8 new?

What release Legend do you have? Wehter or not you can have Merlin mail or merlin messaging depends on that.
If you can have messaging, yes, you can get a 6 portlicense and upgade just the port card to the max (12 port).

If you look at a Keyvoice, you can use that if you upgrade the switch to a Magix or another type.
