The system has 4 modules, 206E Module R3.0, 206EC Module R4.1, Processor Module R3.1 and Partner Mail VS R1.0
Tried to set up/modify the messages.
<Intercom><777>. get busy signal.
Tried to unassign all extensions in group 7 by #505.
What have I done wrong? The system was working and it was powered off for at least 2 months.
Was able to change message with <Intercom><777> prior to power off.
Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly two things happened, you lost your programming for the ACS because the batteries are gone or the Mail VS is toast.

Assign extensions 34 and 35 to group 7, #505 then do intercom 777 and see what happens.

Oops, looks like it's a Partner II, not an ACS - so, put extension 26 and 27 in Hunt Group 7, then see if you can log into voice mail.

Right you are and then it's most likely that the processor lost it's programming because the internal battery is gone.

I used <#505><7>to assign ext 26 and 27 to group 7. After assigning, when <intercom>is pressed, a dial tone like dialing out came on. Usually when <intercom><777> is pressed, a special higher pitch tone will come on, but not in this situation.
When I tried to dial out by pressing line 1, there is no tone at all.
What should I do now?

What happens with line 2 and extensions 10-15 ?

Its a vs mail and not a messaging release 1
as in that case you would use extensions 22-23

just to check unassign 26-27 /assign 22-23 and see what you get. in #505

also in #301 see if line one is on the sets and
make sure the dial tone is good coming into partner.

There is only one line here where I am testing and programming the system.
I've assign 22 and 23.
Also in #301, I have assigned line 1 to ext 10, 11 etc.
When <Intercom> button is pressed, I got a dial tone, like the one you get from a regular line.
The line button is still not getting an outside line.
Pls advise what to do next.

Assign line 1 thru 4 to 10 and move the line around to test, you may have a bad line port on your 206, as far as VM what happens when you press Intercom 777

Usually when <777> is pressed, a special higher pitch tone will come on...

Well, that isn't right!

Are you pressing the intercom button FIRST then 777?

When button is pressed, I got a dial tone, like the one you get from a regular line.
The line button is still not getting an outside line.

The only way you could get dial tone is with a line connected to a CO port. If there is nothing connected you will hear nothing.

Nothing you are telling us makes any sense.

ok turn off the system
1- remove the voice mail card and turn system on

2- take a partner set ,MAKE SURE your using a 4 wire line cord ,hopefully you have a display set

3- are all 3 green lights lites on your 3 cards lit.

4- if yes plug the phone into 1st sta port ,see if display comes on and press intercom button
for dial tone /do this on all 12 sta ports.

5- if yes turn off system put mail back in turn system back on /make sure all 3 green lights
are on and v/m runs

6- then go back to posts above and reprogram

What does the mail say on the front labels

Where are you located ??
