Ok thanks to your help it now picks up. Here's my dilema now.I need 4 lines to each have there own AA and ext. and just deposit all messages in that ext's mailbox. Then a fifth line to just get p/u by the ext. mailbox and leave all messages for it in there. I can't have an AA p/u anything but the one line that is assigned to it. Thanks for all the help, I've never dealt with messaging or this may separate buisnesses operating out of one system. Thanks again for any help. Gary

That ext you want their vm to pick up on line 5.
Just do #208 and put that ext as the owner of that line. Don't assisign line 5 to any AA in the AA programing but in 206 set it as a vm cover line.

Then of coarse make sure that ext has a mail box and has vm coverage on it.

It seems that AA1 is p/u line 5 even though it's not assigned to it. I had the #208 set for that ext, if I put the #206 grp7 line 5 at vms cover it just rings no p/u ?? if I put it back to assigned I get the AA1 greeting

To make a mailbox answer a line, there are two approaches:

Use "Call Coverage":
The answering extension must have the line assigned to it, and have Immediate or Delayed Ring. It must have Auto VMS Cover, and a mailbox. The extension that will cover the line is assigned in #208-NN-XX, AND in #206-7-NN-2 (NOT ASSIGNED - DON'T USE LINE OWNERSHIP, BECUASE YOU'RE USING CALL COVER INSTEAD)

Use "Line Ownership":
The answering extension must have the line assigned to it, and have Immediate or Delayed Ring. It must have Auto VMS Cover, and a mailbox. The extension that will cover the line is assigned IN THE VOICEMAIL, under the Line Ownership menu. The line is assigned to Line Ownership in #206-7-NN-3, and and setting in #208-NN must be CLEARED.

What's the difference in the two approaches? Using Call Cover, the covering extension can go into DND and the calls will be answered immediatly. Using Line Ownership, the owner extension can go into DND, and the line will continue to ring on any other extensions that receive the line.

If you are using PC Card Mail, there is NOT a Line Ownership option, so you must use Call Coverage instead.
