We are moving to Cisco's call manager from a Merlin Magix. I believe we are running R3.0. The Magix is currently connected to my local carrier. I do have a free T1 card (100DCD) in the magix. Can I create a T1 connection between the Cisco and the Magix to deliver calls from the local carrier over the T1 and into the Cisco? I am looking to do this for the transition period so I don't have to move everyone in one weekend. I also have some free CO ports on the magix, and some free CO ports on the Cisco router if that is a better solution. I don't know much about the magix.

You can build a trunk between the systems with a cross-over T-1 connection. I have done this before for the same reason you describe.

gkar,

Thanks for the reply. I am a computer person stuck in a Merlin Magix world! I have no idea how to create the trunk group the the Merlin end. I can handle the config on the Call manager no problem. I just don't know how to configure the trunk group, t1 signaling or anything like that. I do have the t1 crossover cable built and in place, I just need to know what I am doing!

I think the long silence is because this is something that you need a dealer for. It's not something we can go into via this forum.

If you complete you profile with your location and contact information perhaps we have someone local to you who would be willing to help you out.

I don't think it did, that's why he was back yesterday looking for assistance on how to do what gkar suggested back in December.
