Hey everyone, great board btw.
I searched before i decided to post to see if this has already been answered, but i couldnt find any problems directly relating to this one.
Here is the situation: The voicemail does not work. When i dial 777, it just keeps ringing. this system isnt brand new, we got it from a differnt company and sometimes when people call it, it will go to someone elses voicemail. So it causes a huge problem. Ok enough of that, so basically, I cannot get the voicemail to work, The system is a 2 slot, i set up 20,21 to hunt group 7, return ext to 10, i did everything that was supposed to be done as said in the manual. But it still will not work when dialing 777 to connect.
The business only has 1 voice line, but wants to have 5 extensions and two of those with voicemail. How could i fix this and finally get voicemail to work?
I know this might be confusing what i just wrote, but ill answer questions to the best of my knowledge.
Thank you and please help!!
Eddie

You should have 22 and 23 assigned to 505,7, assuming the VS only 2 ports which is more than likely. No card in the VS's PC card slot, right? Then it's two ports.

If "not assigned" is your default then yes 20 and 21 go to default as well as any other ext other then 22/23 as hal told you above.

And you can dial your VM ports to make sure they do pick up. Before assigning them.
Example: intercom 22 and 23.

hey!! awesome, now it works
Another question though, How could I setup the voicemail first, then make it live when im done by setting 22,23?
There is someone elses recording on there and I want to setup all the mailbox's and prompts before I make it live.
