Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I figured this would have already been covered in a thread, so a-searchin' I did go, and here I am. This thread answered my first question. 2nd question is: so does the ASA card then go in slot 1, replacing the Backup card that's currently in slot 1? In my case, the VM PC card ("Large") is in slot 2. I just want to make sure this configuration will work, before selling an ASA card.
The problem came up because someone recently programmed ASA to be used to put calls on hold (external hold), but it stopped working all of a sudden. I went onsite and found no ASA card in the system, yet putting the call on hold after 4 rings was working ok. The only problem I saw was that "No ASA/DXD Card Installed" would show up on the LCD of all phones, when ASA put the call on hold. My assumption is that it's a fluke that the ASA feature worked to begin with, and the lack of the card is why it stopped working (and why the notice is displaying on the LCD). Can someone back me up on this?
As always, thanks for your help!

Yup, take out the backup card, and put in the ASA card. Be sure to back it up first, and leave the card on site. Also, turn OFF the automatic backup, or you will get "Insert Valid Card" once a month!
