Hi all, Quick question.. We are considering opening a 'SMALL < 10 users' branch office and currently have the Merlin Magix w/latest and I am wondering what the requirements are to tie in a second Magix system to our existing one. Will copper trunks be enough to handle traffic between sites or does this require a T-1? Fractional?
TIA!

I think a lot would depend on functions you want. With networking, you can get caller id info, (if it's coming in to start with), centralized voice mail, easy connect and transfer between sta's, etc. Copper lines between offices wouldn't be cheap either. I have worked with ext's out of main to branch, coming in as co lines, and reverse back to main, but is only a makeshift solution.

use a point to point T1. This way you can share voice and data traffic between the two points.

Thanks for the good tips. The remote office would be in a different county and toll area - would a P2P T-1 allow us to route calls out of the other site providing they have the capacity?
